When we were set to create a piece inspired by the random encounters that happen between our work and the audience we were impelled to explore that invisible force that explains them all: luck.
FORTUNES is the biggest-size project Iregular has ever produced to this day. Its neighbourhood-scale 5 LED monoliths format is unique and rarely come across in the interactive art scene around the world, capable of transforming a public urban space to an interactive museum accessible to all.
This five-part experience invites visitors to play with their own shadows, strolling from one monolith to the other. Cameras placed in front of each interaction zone track human bodies thanks to AI and turn them into projections of shadows that are drawn and redrawn by people’s unpredictable movement. This combined with random generative software creates infinitely different living artworks that are never the same.
